Plumed Horse: This friendly family eatery, fronted by Ian Bruce, whose father was born in Hawthornbank Place, off North Fort Street, has been awarded 3 AA Rosettes and regained the all important Michelin Star. The old port has recently and affectionately been dubbed "The Michelin Mile" due to the close proximity of The Plumed Horse, Martin Wishart and The Kitchin. The ever-growing reputation of the Plumed Horse is steadily bringing in a loyal and varied clientele. So, be careful. You have to book well in advance especially for weekends. The King's Wark Restaurant and Bar: The King’s Wark has been refreshing the good and great of Leith for as long as there have been Leithers. One of the oldest buildings in Leith, the King’s Wark is certainly not short of character and as such offers a welcome break from the glossy façade that now covers so much of EH6.

The Ship on the Shore: There are few establishments in Leith that manage to combine a successful restaurant with a thriving, bar - most tend to excel in one and lag slightly in the other. The Roseleaf: This really is a homely place serving, as one would expect, the full range of alcoholic beverages, but with the addition of a delightful food menu the contents of which you're not likely to have seen before anywhere else (you'll see what we mean when you click on the menu page link at the end of the text on their page). Food is served from 10 in the morning until 10 at night and we recommend that you try everything over a few visits.
