Venues: Thomas Morton Hall, 28-30 Ferry Road and 14-16 Grassmarket, Edinburgh.
Here at Dance Base, in September 2010, we opened a second venue in the extraordinarily sumptuous Thomas Morton Hall in Leith. In collaboration with the City of Edinburgh Council, and with support from the Creative Scotland Resilience Fund, we are delighted to be able to meet at last the long-standing demand for classes in the north of Edinburgh. This beautiful heritage studio is even bigger than the spectacular Studio 1 at the Grassmarket centre.
The studio itself has been lovingly redecorated meaning that Leithers can finally enjoy the full Dance Base experience in a stunningly appointed and fully accessible local venue.
Dance Base’s Artistic Director Morag Deyes MBE said: "Dance Base used to be a National Centre for Dance without a dance studio, so we held classes all over the city and the Thomas Morton Hall was the star amongst those venues. What a delight that we are revisiting that amazing building and also connecting with the vitality and character of Leith. We are excited to be a part of it again and add our own brand of fun into the fascinating mix of that community."
Thomas Morton Hall studio is also available for hire. If you would like to hire space for wedding receptions, private dance tuition, meetings, hen parties classes, private parties or corporate events, please contact Hires & Events Manager Matt Roe matt@dancebase.co.uk or call 0131 225 5525
